Surf Internet team members and representatives from the Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce and Yorktown Chamber of Commerce celebrate the expansion of Surf’s fiber-optic internet service in Muncie and Yorktown during an Oct. 22 ribbon cutting at the company’s new Muncie office.
MUNCIE, Ind. (Oct. 23, 2026) – Surf Internet® marked its progress bringing fiber-optic internet to Muncie and Yorktown with a ribbon cutting Oct. 22, strengthening the company’s local presence as its network continues to expand.
Since announcing its plans in May 2025, Surf has been building a fiber-optic network backed by an estimated $14.6 million investment. The project is designed to reach 8,700 homes and businesses in Muncie and 3,000 in Yorktown. Beyond those communities, Surf plans to reach more than 10,000 additional households across Delaware and Grant counties.
Surf has completed network construction to nearly 2,500 homes and businesses across the two communities. Service is available in areas of northwest Muncie near Ball State University and along State Road 32 in Yorktown, where Surf became the community’s first fiber-to-the-home provider. Additional expansion is underway in both communities.
The Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce and Yorktown Chamber of Commerce joined Surf for the ribbon cutting at its new office at 5784 W. Kilgore Ave. in Muncie. The location serves as a base for field technicians supporting the company’s construction and installation efforts in the area.
“We’ve made tremendous progress bringing fiber to homes and businesses across Muncie and Yorktown, and we’re not finished,” said Jordan Holzwart, regional market manager for Surf Internet. “Having a team based here keeps us close to the communities we serve as we expand the network and support customers already connected to it.”
“We appreciate Surf Internet’s commitment to identifying underserved areas and investing in the infrastructure needed to bring reliable, high-speed internet to more of our community,” said Chase Bruton, Yorktown town manager. “Expanding fiber access creates meaningful opportunities for our residents and businesses, and we are pleased they chose to invest in Yorktown.”
Surf offers residential fiber internet with speeds up to 8 Gig, unlimited data, and no contracts. Its All-In Pricing includes equipment fees and taxes, and new customers receive a Price-Lock Guarantee.
